1993 Proposing of the HXMT projedct.
2000 The phase A study of HXMT was selected as a "Major State Basic Research Project" (973 Project).
This study is a collaboration between the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Tsinghua University.
2002 In the middle term review of the 973 Project, the review panel strongly appealed to list
the HXMT project as an official scientific satellite at the national level.
2003 Overcoming of the key technical difficulties of the detector and collimator construction;
finish of the 1:3 ground prototype of HXMT.
